In grief training, David Kessler said, he learned when you lose a child at some point you are going to hit rock bottom and then you have to make a decision if you are going to keep living. Wow! So true! I am not going to jump off a bridge, but I am often just going through the motions of living.
Unexpectedly, I was asked if I could help a friend by presenting on zoom to Early Childhood teachers. I wasn’t sure what to expect and I also wasn’t sure if I could share Robbie’s early intervention success story like I have in the past.
Without trying or expecting, I have found a way to honor Robbie, by helping other teachers learn about the importance of early childhood interventions. I spent the summer researching, reading tons of articles and books, buying new Early Childhood books… all to become updated with the current best practices. At one point, I realized that I was back having a purpose for living again. I have presented a few times now and I really enjoy it. I hope I can continue occasionally, even with the school year starting, because it is truly my passion to encourage and work with Early Childhood teachers.
I am very grateful that my friend reached out to me! Without trying, she has pulled me back out of the pit. I am still sad and grieving daily, but also living again.

God put this friend in your path, knowing that she would give you purpose again. She could have chosen not to mention this to you, but she stepped out. It’s amazing how God-Things work!! So proud of both of you AND Robbie!! 🥰
