Halloween 10/31/20

Robbie had so much fun wearing the “One Punch man” superhero costume. He wore it to the zoo, the Butterfly Center, and MD Anderson. The girls helped pick it out, because he was upset from being bald from chemo and the superhero is also bald. Wonderful memories of him enjoying all the attention he got…

Relaxing with his Yellow Sloth 10/26/20

Robbie two years ago today, relaxing with one of his favorite sloths and his computer. ❤ Last week for a few days in a row, I dreamed about Robbie in the hospital. I wake up and it takes a few minutes to calm down and realize it is only a dream and he isn’t suffering…

Happy International Sloth Day

I missed posting yesterday on the International Sloth Day. I hadn’t heard of sloths before our first trip to Costa Rica. Robbie really enjoyed them his last 4 years while he fought cancer. They are normally a fairly peaceful slow moving animal.

Houston Zoo 10/18/20

Jim and I visited the Houston Zoo today. We were able to see Robbie’s favorite sloth thanks to his kind zoo keeper. They were always so kind to Robbie when he was sick. We talked a lot about Robbie as we visited some of his favorite places at the zoo today. ❤

Robbie at Door County 10/16/20

Looking at Robbie’s pictures tonight. He used to love when we took him to Door County, Wisconsin. He liked picking cherries to make cherry pie, playing on Lake Michigan beach in the sand, and hiking at the parks. We used to go about every other summer for a week and also visit his grandparents. Missing…

Briefly Stable 10/11/20

Two years ago for the first time since treatments started again, he was briefly stable. The scans showed no increase in his lung tumors. It was short lived and then the drugs were no longer effective, but for that moment in time, we were relieved by the good news. Maybe it would buy us time,…

Red PJ’s 2016 Xmas Pictures 10/10/2020

I always like to send out Christmas cards with pictures of the kids each year. In 2016, Robbie was in remission and the girls came home for the weekend. I decided it would be a good time to get a picture for the Christmas card while everyone was home. The kids decided to remake an…

Events without Robbie 10/5/20

I’m not sure why, but even celebrating my birthday this weekend without Robbie was sad. It isn’t like we had some great birthday traditions together. I really didn’t expect to be upset and I tried telling myself this, but grief sneaks in without warning or reason. Today I was back to myself again.

Robbie Humor 10/4/20

One thing that I miss about Robbie is his sense of humor. He was always texting me or making funny posts on Facebook. He made this post a month before we lost him. I was looking at his page today and laughing at some of the things he wrote. I also looked through some of…

Robbie and Jim 10/1/20

We took Robbie out to eat at a yummy restaurant in Oklahoma on 10/1/2016. You can make your own s’mores, which is fun. He was able to take a break from treatment and at the time wasn’t showing any signs of cancer. Robbie was just starting to use the crutches instead of the walker or…
