I couldn’t skip writing on this day. Although my mother passed away a couple months before Robbie got sick, it was her strength that has helped me. I would think…what would my mom do? She was a take charge person. If you have a problem, you can’t sit and wait to see what happens. You have to take action, be strong, and keep going. She also had a strong faith and was very active in her church and missions to help children. I am very grateful for my mother.

Our Pastor’s wife in the church where I grew up has also been a great influence on my life. When Robbie got sick, Karen came to see us and made Thanksgiving. She also along with her husband supported the church camping program, retreats, and a Christian singing group, which all influenced my life.

Another strong woman in my life was my husband’s mother. She had a very strong faith and raised 10 great kids. I am thankful for the years we had together. We would always end up laughing when we were together. She passed away from cancer in 2004.
