Foot Pain Continues 6/17/16

Robbie has struggled all week with pain in his right foot whenever he uses it.  If he doesn’t use his foot the problem with the thin bones will continue. It makes it difficult to go anywhere, so other than PT, we stayed in the apartment this week. He will see his dr again the end…

A Book and A Foot 6/16/16

A book my students like to have me read is: Alexander and the Terrible, Horrible, No Good, Very Bad Day. It is also a good title for our day yesterday!! Robbie made great progress in the last couple weeks and was just starting to walk with forearm crutches in PT.  He will get there again,…

Update on Robbie’s Foot 6/13/16

Robbie and I had a rough day today!! Robbie was in extreme pain in his foot. We had to be at Anderson all day for appointments and there wasn’t anything I could do to help him.  Dr Lin said that Robbie has low calcium in the bones in his foot called osteopenia. This is causing…

Resting 6/10/16

After a busy week of therapy at Anderson and non stop working on his leg at home, he has crashed today. He was disappointed to be so weak after a few great days. His body is still trying to recover from months of chemo. He is also having a lot of pain in his foot….

Crutches 6/9/16

He has PT everyday this week. His leg is getting a workout. We are also walking everyday. It’s a constant battle to try to keep his leg from bending again. He uses heat on his leg with weights to push it down and he also trades off with his leg braces.

Mile Walk at the Zoo 6/4/16

Robbie went beyond the entrance buildings today and walked a mile at the zoo with his walker. He was exhausted and in pain when he got done, but we were happy he walked so far. This is the most walking he has done since last August. His leg is still not very functional, but better…

Invasion of the Sloths 6/3/16

OT & PT with better pain control today. His leg is fighting to stay straight and has a slight bend. I’m praying that it holds where it is and doesn’t keep bending. He has to lay straight this week when he isn’t out and about. The sloths are keeping him company. Missing Mail…found delivered at…
