The final run of chemo is causing us all to crash as we ride it out. Robbie is sick, tired, and discouraged with his leg. No one can sleep…we are quite a mess. It will get worse before he starts to feel better as his blood counts continue to go down for two weeks after treatment.
We have talked about all the places he can go when he recovers from this round and we don’t have to keep him in a bubble anymore. We had to keep him away from people as much as possible the last several months because his blood counts have been too low to fight an infection. It is also the reason that I stayed away from my students this year. I wanted to visit them, but the risk was too great with all the germs at an elementary school.
